FRAMEWORK FOR CPG SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING
If you’re a busy CPG founder, stop wasting your time coming up with new ideas and start getting more out of the ideas you already have. How? Repurpose your social media content.
It’s easy to come up with an idea, create the Instagram post, publish it, and forget about it. But then you’re back to square one trying to think of something new to post. Over and over and over.
Instead, turn each idea you have into at least four social media posts. If four isn’t enough, check out Scale on Socials. One of the included systems helps you turn one idea into seven different Instagram posts.
This method helps you quickly fill up your social media calendar and learn how to position your ideas in different ways. That helps you learn what content types, formats, and topics work best with your target audience, and ultimately gives you more data to improve your content strategy.
You can use this process for any Instagram post idea. For the sake of this blog post, let’s say the post idea is all about the five different adaptogens in your ready to drink beverage product.
Your first step is to turn this idea into an Instagram post. For our example, you’d use a picture of the raw adaptogens, or a picture of your product, and use the caption to share important information about what adaptogens are, why you use those five, and how the customer will benefit from them.
Now turn this post into an Instagram graphic. Remove the photo (as gorgeous as it is) and use Adobe Creative Suite or Canva to create an eye-catching graphic that highlights the benefits of each adaptogen.
This graphic from Rainbo Mushrooms is one of my favourites, although the social media strategist in me recommends using a 1080×1350 size to optimize the content for Instagram.
Next you’ll turn your idea into an Instagram reel trend. Use any trending music to quickly catch the attention of your target audience. Depending on the trend, you can add your information in the video itself or in the caption.
And finally, turn your idea into a long-form Instagram reel. This is also called a “talking head reel”. It’s a video where you talk to the camera and share the information directly in the video. You can add more information on screen or in the caption. The goal of this Instagram reel is to speak directly to your customer, share your knowledge, and show who you are and what you’re about.
