It’s been a few years since I started managing my client’s email marketing, but it’s not something I talk about a lot because social media is still my bread and butter.
However, over the years I’ve noticed that email marketing is an incredible marketing channel for building relationships, gathering customer feedback, and most importantly: driving sales.
Think of your email list as your VIP list. They’re the customers that are most likely to immediately shop your new launch and gush over your brand to their friends.
Creating an email newsletter for them each and every week allows you to build and maintain an engaged community of customers, ready to support you and help your business grow.
But how do you get started with email marketing?

What is a Welcome Series?
A welcome series is a series of email newsletters sent to new subscribers to introduce your brand & products and begin building a relationship.
Through your welcome series you can share discount codes or free downloads, educate your new subscribers about your products, or share customer reviews.
Why You Need a Welcome Series
Your welcome series is the introduction into your email newsletter workflow.
It helps to not only establish a relationship, but a welcome series also gets your subscribers familiar with your brand so they know what to expect every time they open an email from you. Hopefully, your welcome series will get them excited to open your weekly newsletters!
If your goal is to increase brand awareness and engagement, email conversions and sales, and build a more enthusiastic community, you need a welcome series.
What a Welcome Series Should Include
Your welcome series can be as short or as long as you’d like, but I recommend including 3-4 email newsletters in this workflow.
The first email can be sent right after a new subscriber joins your list. It can be short and sweet: quickly introduce your brand, share a first-time customer discount code, and encourage them to follow you on Instagram.
The second email can be sent a couple days later and can dive deeper into who you are, what products you sell, and why you’re different from anything else on the market.
The third email can be sent a couple days after your second, and can deep dive into your products, flavours, ingredients, recipes, etc.
The fourth email is the most optional and it can include customer reviews, recipes, or anything else you didn’t cover in emails 1-3 that’s totally necessary for your new subscriber to know.
